COVID-19: Updates From The Eco Shop

Dear friends of The Eco Shop, 

Firstly we want to pass on our well wishes to you and your loved ones, and we hope that you are staying safe and sane in these worrying times. 

As the World continues to adapt to the challenges we are all facing, we want to update you on what we're doing at The Eco Shop to protect our team whilst ensuring we can continue to provide all of your eco essentials. 


We are currently open, as normal. Fortunately, as we are an online business we are exempt from trading restrictions other retail businesses are facing. We are fully stocked on all eco essentials, and we have contacted all of our key suppliers who have reassured us that their supply chains are currently unaffected.

Postal Service

Our preferred postal service is now Royal Mail. Royal Mail offer a number of delivery options to suit your needs including 24 and 48 hour deliveries. Royal Mail have implementing social distancing measures, including a change to 'signed for' deliveries - they will not be handing over hand-held devices to customers to capture signatures but instead log the name of the person accepting the item.  For all customers where Royal Mail need to deliver an item that won’t fit through the letterbox, they will place the item at your door. Having knocked on your door, they will then step aside to a safe distance while the item is retrieved. This will ensure your item is delivered securely rather than being left outside. We made the decision to switch from Hermes to Royal Mail due to Hermes no longer offering any insurance options for parcels, and because a number of recent parcels have not been received by our customers. Offering excellent service from order to delivery and beyond is incredibly important to us, so we feel this is the right choice although this has unfortunately meant we have had to increase minimum spend for free delivery to £75 for now, due to the increased postage rates of Royal Mail in comparison. 

    Health & Safety

    We have implemented new procedures to ensure health & safety is prioritised above all else. Social distancing tactics have been applied, and strict cleanliness measures are being taken in our warehouse, including regular cleaning within the space, and frequent hand sanitisation for those involved with packing parcels. No one in our warehouse has been in contact with anyone who is connected with a Coronavirus case.
