Plastic waste is everyone’s problem
Reducing plastic waste is a massive issue in the United Kingdom. Did you know?
- UK households throw out approximately 22 million tonnes of waste each year
- More than 8 million tonnes of plastic is dumped in our oceans every year killing wildlife and ending up in the food we eat
- Only a third of plastic food packaging in the UK can be recycled
- The UK’s top 10 supermarkets put into circulation approximately 810,000 tonnes of single-use plastic every year.
